Donations: Your Questions Answered

We are so fortunate to be in a community that is supportive of our Pantry. Every week we are asked about helping with donations: where to donate, what can be donated that is useful, do donations have to be in cash.
We’ve put together a list to help answer these questions. Please know that we are grateful for any support you can give, but if you can look this list over and work within our guidelines, it makes our lives much easier.

List of preferred donation items
Cash donations are the easiest for us to handle, as it gives us the most flexibility.
It is helpful to have 2 or more cases of the same item (case lots) or 30-40 individual items.
These items are the most frequently needed:
Milk, 1 % preferred, 1/2 gal size preferred
Pasta and pasta sauce so the parts of the meal are together
Fresh fruit that is not close to expiration/spoilage (2 bushels lots) oranges, apples, bananas
Canned fruit
Fresh vegetables, particularly greens, onions, carrots
Canned vegetables
Canned chicken, tuna or salmon
Peanut butter
Jelly or jam
Yogurt any size in case lots
Cereal - case lots
Fruit juice 100% juice
Note*****. Before purchasing items that need cooler or freezer space, please make sure to communicate with pantry director Karel Titus 607-582-6203 to make sure someone at the pantry is available to receive the items.
